Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Advance Lance (“we”, “us”) collects and uses your personal data when you visit advancelance.co.uk or get in touch with us. We are committed to handling your information in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect
- Enquiry details — your name, email address and the message you send through our contact form, by email or by phone.
- Client project information — if you work with us, the contact, billing and project details needed to deliver the work.
- Client footage — photos and video supplied by clients for editing, which may include images of people.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on this website.
How and why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss your project — based on our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or steps taken at your request before entering a contract.
- To deliver work, invoice and keep business records — based on contract and our legal obligations (for example tax records).
- To show edited client content in our portfolio or on social media — only with the agreement of the client and, where people are identifiable, appropriate consent.
We will never sell your data or add you to a marketing list without your permission.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the business, including our website host (Netlify, Inc.), which processes contact form submissions on our behalf, and our email provider. Some of these providers may store data outside the UK; where they do, they are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK adequacy regulations. Website fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address in order to deliver them.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a project: up to 12 months.
- Client records and invoices: 6 years, as required for UK tax purposes.
- Client footage: for as long as agreed with the client, or until consent is withdrawn.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, ask for a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it. To make a request, email hello@advancelance.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
